    Past events

  • Computational Workshop on the SIMAP tools, January 28th & 29th 2008, University of Glasgow, Scotland.
The SIMAP project (‘Simulation and Modelling of the MAP Kinase Pathway’ - www.simap-project.org/simap/public) will be holding a workshop on the computational tools employed and developed in the project in the first two years. The tools are intended for professional modelers as well as the working biochemist or clinician who wishes to add computational modeling tools and databases to his/her working capabilities. Bioinformatics will also find the workshop relevant for extending their capabilities. The workshop is open to all, and will focus on the theoretical background of the tools and hands-on session working with tools on problems from the world of MAP-kinase modelers and researchers. More information here.

  • Finding the Hidden Knowledge: Text mining for biology and medicine. February 21st & 22nd, University of Glasgow, Scotland.
A two day workshop which aims to encourage collaboration between the text mining and the biomedical communities. The workshop consists of invited talks, a poster/demo session, and plenty of time for discussion and networking. More information here.

  • Workshop on Systems Biology: This informal workshop took place on 2 May 2006 at the University of Glasgow.

  • ISMB-ECCB 2004 Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB) - European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB), in conjunction with Genes, Proteins and Computers VIII.

  • Scottish Bioinformatics Forum Visionary Meeting held on 27 May 2004 at the University of Glasgow. Keynote address by Professor Janet Thornton, FRS, Director of the European Bioinformatics Institute, followed by presentations from Bioinformatics groups in Scotland.
